FLOATER’S BLOG: Pool-less Float Date, June 30th 2025

I was wearing a .calm shirt the other day when some guy asked me what kind of ice cream and what kind of beer I put in my beer floats. My answer was I haven’t had one for a couple of decades, but I think it was vanilla ice cream on a stout.

I went on to explain the website and then extrapolate his question to what beerfloat.calm represents by saying I don’t have a specific beer or body of water because each occasion is its own unique occasion and individual choices are made for each of those opportunities. However the highest percentage of my floats take place in the swimming pool at my Villa, and I will have a refreshing lager (Toña) or pilsner (Victoria) because it is usually a hot sunny day. Perhaps on a cooler night float I might have a heavier craft beer or even a rum, but you never know where a flight (or float) of fancy might take you.

Later I was recounting this story to a friend via WhatsApp when a thought struck me…
