I was asked by the office staff at beerfloat.calm to answer three emails all from different people but all asking the same question. The question wasn’t directed at me however, it was to beerfloat.calm business operations, but ever the team player I took on the challenge.
Benoit Charron from somewhere writes…
"Hi there!
The domain beerfl.com will soon be available for sale. Are you interested in acquiring it?
Have a great day!
Benoit Charron”
This was followed by very similar messages from Morris Cole and Chris Hancock.
Here is my reply…
“Dear Chris Haycock,
The staff at beerfloat.calm asked me to write a response to your enquiry.
As they received similar emails from Benoit Charron and Morris Cole I will be sending this response to all three of you. In case you are not affiliated with each other I am replying individually although I don’t understand how all three of you could sell the same domain?
The first thing the staff noticed is that you are not on the beerfloat.calm subscriber list so as you obviously have an interest in beerfloating we have taken the liberty of adding you to our next email campaign. Enjoy!
As to purchasing beerfl.com thank you for your interest in helping out.
When I read the emails I was reminded of that TV game show where you spin a big wheel and try to guess a phrase – especially the part where you ‘buy a vowel’.
So in this case, if we could also buy the vowels ‘o’ and ‘a’ and maybe you can slip in the consonant ‘t’ as a bonus we might be able to come to some form of agreement.
Unfortunately I’ve tried a beerfl but it just didn’t float.
Out of curiosity, as I am not familiar with the machinations of interweb business, what kind of price is one expected to pay for a website resale?
Also why would beerfloat.calm (or .net) want a second website when they already have one which search engines have no problem finding? This is clearly evident in that the Merch is perpetually sold out! If anything I think they can use some help on that side of things.
Thank you for asking and I look forward to your replies to my questions. Perhaps I will be able to take something from this to create a future blog submission for the site.
Corliss Buenavida”
That was a few days ago and now we wait for a response, and you know I love doing addendums!
Curiously waiting, Corliss
